How It Works

If you have heard of our Employee Preferred Pricing Discount and want to know how it works, it’s very simple:

Step One:

Search for the company at which you are employed in the search field below. If your company is one of the Preferred Pricing partners listed, you are eligible to purchase a new GM vehicle using the Preferred Pricing Discount.

Step Two:

Browse through our inventory of available new Chevrolet, GMC and Buick vehicles and select the make, model and trim you want to buy or lease from us using the discount.

Step Three:

Come to Standard Motors with Proof of Employment (such as a letter from your HR representative or a recent pay stub) to test drive the vehicle you’re interested in and finalize the purchase.

Who is eligible for the Preferred Pricing Discount?

If you are an employee of an eligible Canadian company, then you can take advantage of the Preferred Pricing Discount. In this case, being an ‘employee’ means being an active hourly and salaried employee or the spouse of one. Contract or retired employees are not eligible.

How do I prove that I am an eligible employee?

Simply bring in a letter from your company’s HR representative or a recent pay stub.

How much is the GM Preferred Pricing Discount?

If you work for a company that is eligible for the GM Preferred Pricing Discount, you can buy a new Chevrolet, GMC or Buick vehicle and pay the GM Employee Price*. In order to guarantee that all of the eligible discounts are applied on your purchase, an eligible employee and our dealership’s representative must agree to the calculation of the discount on a special pricing worksheet that lists all costs associated with your vehicle purchase.

How many vehicles can I buy with the preferred pricing discount?

All individual eligible employees can buy or lease up to two new GM vehicles per calendar year using the Preferred Pricing Discount.

Can I also apply other discounts & offers?

When you buy or lease a new GM vehicle using the Preferred Pricing Discount, there are some other specials and discounts that you can also claim on your purchase, including: most national and regional specials & incentives as well as any GM Card Earnings (these are subject to Vehicle Redemption Allowances). If you’re a GM Cardholder , you are also eligible to claim the Canadian Forces Appreciation Discount if you are serving in the Canadian military, the Mobility Program if you have a disability that requires accessibility vehicles and accessories, and the Student Bonus if you are a university student.

What other incentives & discount programs can NOT be combined with the Preferred Pricing Discount?

The following incentives and discount programs from General Motors can NOT be combined with the Preferred Pricing Discount:

What GM brands and models can I purchase with the Preferred Pricing Discount?

Most new Chevrolet, GMC and Buick vehicles are eligible to use the Preferred Pricing Discount. This includes most cars, hatchbacks, SUVs, crossovers, and trucks. Some specific models, trims and packages may not be eligible or they may have limited availability with which to use the Discount. If you want to know if a particular vehicle you are interested in purchasing is eligible or not, please contact one of our representatives and they can let you know.

Can family members of eligible employees use the discount?

The only member of an eligible employee, aside from the employee themselves, who can use the Preferred Pricing Discount is their spouse. Children, parents, siblings, cousins, grandparents, and so on of eligible employees are NOT eligible.

I bought a GM vehicle before I knew of the Preferred Pricing Discount. Can I still apply for it after the fact?

No. Previous purchases are not eligible.

Are dealer-installed options eligible for the discount?

No. Any dealer-installed options such as conversions or upfit packages, as well as General Motors Protection Plans and other extra-charge items do not receive any extra discount from Preferred Pricing and will be priced regularly.

Can I use a trade-in with this program?

What is the GM Employee Price?

The GM Employee Price equals the dealer’s price of the base price of the vehicle, plus options, Program Participation fees, REP fees and dealer fees (if applicable) as shown on the invoice. This calculation excludes taxes, license and registration fees, insurance, personal property registry fees and freight charges. Model restrictions may apply. See us for all program details.
